To His Excellency the Governor Sir John
and ask His Excellency if he would kindly
do something for my self. During the time my
husband was suffering from a very long sickness; I was necessitated to
spend a great deal, in fact all I was possessed of money, in trying to bring his health round and at his
death I was left without the slightest support or assistance to place
me in a position to gain a livelihood.
I would now again solicit your kind recommendation
to His Excellency the Governor that he might be graciously pleased to give me a little
assistance in any way that would suit his view.
Trusting you will pardon me for again trespassing on your valuable time,
I remain,
(Signed) Mary London + her mark.
